[COMPLETE THIS SECTION ONCE HOSTING AND ANALYTICS ARE DECIDED.] Our web host records standard server information such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, for security and reliability. [IF YOU ADD ANALYTICS, NAME THE TOOL HERE AND SAY WHETHER IT USES COOKIES.]

Cookies. As published, this site sets no cookies of its own and does not track you across other websites. It does load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google’s servers to fetch them. [UPDATE IF YOU ADD ANALYTICS, EMBEDS, OR CHAT WIDGETS.]

3. Why we use it, and on what basis

  • To reply to you. We use your contact details to answer your demo request or feedback, arrange a walkthrough, and answer questions about fit, installation, and cost.
  • To run a beta programme. If you tick the beta tester box, we use your details to contact you about early access.
  • To improve BubbleWatcher. We read what you tell us about how you run your dives and use it to shape the product.
  • To keep the site working and secure.

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, our legal basis is your consent (which you give by ticking the box and submitting the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our product and keeping our site secure. You can withdraw consent at any time — see section 7.

4. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold or shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising in the preceding twelve months.
  • We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked to hear from us.
  • We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.

5. Who else sees it

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate, and only so far as they need it to do that job:

  • Form processing — [NAME YOUR FORM PROVIDER, e.g. Formspree, Inc.] receives form submissions and passes them to us by email.
  • Email — [NAME YOUR EMAIL PROVIDER, e.g. Google Workspace] stores the messages we receive and send.
  • Web hosting — [NAME YOUR HOST] serves this website.
  • Analytics — [NAME IT, OR DELETE THIS LINE IF YOU USE NONE.]

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Squall Track, our customers, or the public.

6. Where it is stored, and for how long

Squall Track is based in the United States, and the information you send us is processed there. If you contact us from outside the United States, you are sending your information to the US, where privacy laws differ from those in your country.

We keep demo requests and feedback for [CHOOSE A PERIOD, e.g. three years] after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we need to keep them longer to meet a legal or accounting obligation.

7. Your choices and rights

Write to [email protected] at any time to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • have your information deleted;
  • withdraw your consent to be contacted, or ask us to stop contacting you;
  • object to or restrict how we use it.

We will respond within [30 days, or the period your counsel advises]. We will not charge you or treat you differently for exercising these rights.

If you are in the UK or EU and you believe we have handled your information improperly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing — though as stated above, we do not sell or share your information.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you send us, including transport encryption (HTTPS) and limiting access to the people at Squall Track who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

This site is aimed at dive professionals and boat operators. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under [16, or 13 — confirm with counsel]. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. If the change is significant, we will make that clear.
